Richard Alderman

As a child, Richard grew up in a home which taught the value of hard work, living within your means, and investing in yourself. These basic truths are fundamental to a strong financial foundation. Managing your wealth also involves hard work, making financial decisions that fit you, and always investing in you and your family’s future.

His passion and interest in investing and financial planning was sparked at a young age, investing for the first time at 14 years old. The idea of saving, goal setting, and financial achievement continued through school and has led to a fulfilling career with Assante Capital Management Ltd. Since joining the organization in April of 2000, his keen sense of numbers and passion for the industry has allowed Richard to hold nearly every position available with Assante in Nova Scotia. Richard served as president of International Wealth Management Inc. and moved to the Assante Capital Management Ltd. team in Fredericton in July 2015. Recently, Richard has taken the knowledge and experience he gained as president of International Wealth Management Inc. and Branch Manager of Assante Capital Management Ltd., to Fredericton, New Brunswick, to focus on helping clients make informed decisions throughout every stage of life.

Richard prides himself in being thorough, complete, and accurate – not in providing a “quick” solution. Working to get things done the right way is much more valuable than perception of time savings when doing things hurriedly.

Richard holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation from the Financial Planner Standards Council as well as the Financial Management Advisor (FMA) and Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) from the Canadian Securities Institute. He received honors completing the Canadian Securities Course and Professional Financial Planning Course, is a recipient of the Governor General Academic Medal and President’s Award during his two years with NSCC, and received several Assante recognition awards including a two time President’s Pick for Chairman’s Council.

Richard has a keen desire to give back to a society that he feels has given both he and his family such tremendous opportunities.
